Infant Security
Well over a
decade ago, Secure Care Products®, Inc.
expanded into Infant Security and Infant
Security Systems. Troubled by the rise in
infant abductions from hospitals and other
health care facilities, the leadership at
Secure Care Products® recognized an
opportunity to leverage their proven
electronic monitoring technology and
positively influence the questionable state
of Infant Security. The result is the Secure
Care KinderGUARD® Infant Security System
designed specifically to prevent newborn
infant abductions. KinderGUARD® I.D. and
MatchMAKER™ I.D. were later developed to
assist by alerting nursing staff as a
monitored infant approaches an exit.
KinderGUARD® I.D. with S.T.A.T™ Infant
Security System
The
KinderGUARD® I.D. Infant Security System is
a simple and effective solution to prevent
infant abduction. If a monitored infant is
brought near an exit, the door silently
locks while identifying the infant by name
and exit location and reporting back to a PC
running Secure Care Software or Nurse
Console. If the transmitter band is cut,
tampered with, or removed without
authorization, the system will alarm and
lock all armed exits on the floor while
displaying the infant's name and location
back to a PC running Secure Care Software or
Nurse Console. It is also able to perform a
variety of Perimeter Alarm and Access
Control functions by locking a door during
the programmed hours and alarming if an
unauthorized entry or exit has occurred.
MatchMAKER® I.D. Mother/Baby Matching System
MatchMAKER®
I.D. Mother/Baby Matching System is a
wireless infant security product designed to
aid hospital staff in matching an infant to
its mother and prevent accidental switching.
When an infant is brought to its mother’s
room, MatchMAKER® I.D. displays a green LED
indicating a proper match and a red LED
indicating an incorrect match. MatchMAKER®
I.D. can easily handle multiple births as
well as rooms with multiple beds.
Secure
Care Software
The Secure
Care Software features custom floormaps of
your facility. In addition to architectural
features of your facility, the floormaps
include symbols to show events, the location
of the Secure Care Products® security
devices and their effective zones. Secure
Care Software allows users the option of
managing multiple locations from each server
PC or client PC.
Secure
Care Infant Security Transmitter Tag
Secure Care
Infant Security Transmitter Tags are active
Radio Frequency I.D. (RFID) transmitters
utilizing Cut-band technology that transmit
either a unique identification or a generic
code. These tags are worn by an infant
during their stay at the hospital for
location tracking, automatic door locking,
and infant abduction prevention. In a
typical installation, an infant’s ankle is
fitted with a transmitter-tag which sends RF
signals to inconspicuously placed receivers
as it is moved throughout the facility. Any
movement beyond a “secure area” will trigger
notification alarms and will automatically
lock doors and exits as required.
Cut-band
Technology
Cut-band
technology has swept across the infant
security marketplace. Hospitals and
healthcare professionals have embraced
Cut-band technology due to the real-time
identification of a Secure Care Infant
Security Transmitter Tag being removed from
an infant. Simply stated, once the
transmitter tag is cut or sufficiently
tampered with, the facility can be
locked-down while a series of alarms are
tripped notifying responsible staff.
