Airport Visitor Centers / Welcome Centers
Client: The Port Authority of NY & NJ
Location:
John F. Kennedy International, Newark Liberty International and LaGuardia Airports
The Challenge
- Creating a recognizable self-service informational portal at arrivals areas of terminals which adapts to changing technology
- Implementing an iconic design within varied size airport environments
- Generating revenue streams for The Port Authority of NY & NJ
The Solution
Since ancient times, the arch has been the basis of virtually every threshold and is universally recognized as a symbol of welcoming. With this in mind, Parabit designed and manufactured 15 Welcome Centers for the Port Authority of NY & NJ. The visitor centers, located at arrivals areas within airport terminals, utilize a modular design allowing for flexible configurations and easy relocation in the event of construction within the area. Encompassing the digital signage, kiosks and other technology within an attractive arch enclosure creates an icon and provides travelers with an easily identifiable service location.
The visitor centers focus on enhanced customer service and ROI. The Port Authority and participating vendors save thousands of dollars every month using the Welcome Centers' digital signage. Graphics and messages can be changed and updated much more quickly and cost-effectively than with static signage. Digital signs promote brochure displays that feature information on attractions and events in the area. The Welcome Centers' service offerings not only offset the monthly maintenance costs of the technology but also help recoup the cost of deployment.
Parabit's Self-Service Welcome Centers incorporate:
- 60 hotel/car rental/ground transportation kiosks
- 150 digital signage displays.
- 30 Self-Service Kiosks which allow access to
The Port Authority Website
- 10 ATM's, integrated within the Welcome Centers.
- Sleek Ground Transportation Information Counters
